Jessica Phillips Lorenz is a theatre artist, essayist, educator and cancer-mom.  She has performed many original solo works and her songs appear on the award-winning children’s record “Come Play Yoga”.  Her writing has appeared in many publications including  Insider, Romper, Parents, Real Simple.com, MUTHA  Magazine (Pushcart nominee),and a theatre festival for babies in Northern Ireland.  Her current project, BEST PARTY EVER! was selected to be part of Piper Theatre's Spotlight Series and was granted a developmental workshop production in June, 2023. Jess is thrilled to have been awarded a writers residency with the Ragdale Foundation in Lake Forest,Il. Jess is an active member of  The American Childhood Cancer Organization (ACCO), Momcology, and Emerging Artists Theater.  You can find her on the socials @PlaypracticeNYC. 

 Jess holds a M.S. Ed  in Educational Theatre and a BFA in Acting.  She continued her actor training at NJ Shakespeare Festival, BADA (London), and T. Schreiber Studios (NYC). 

Jess has studied writing with Ariel Gore (Literary Kitchen), Rachel Howard (Catapult), and Bixby Elliot (Brooklyn Play Generator).
